KOKRAJHAR, MAR 14: Noted social intellectual activist and sculptor Indra Mahan Koch has breathed his last on Sunday evening at around 7 pm at his Magurmari residence in Kokrajhar district.
Koch was retired Art teacher served in various schools including Guwahati and Tura of Meghalaya state.
He was unwell since few months ago for his age-ailment and passed away Sunday evening. He was 79.
He was regarded as one of prominent intellectuals among the Rabha and Bodo communities for his relentlessly rendering services in his life.
He was associated with various socio cultural activities in his life.
He was also a writer and dedicated towards the welfare and development of social integration. He was 79.
He was also a talented artist,actor and a musician. It is also learnt that he is the one who designed the logo of All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) during the foundation period.
Several organisations including All Rabha Students Union, All Bodo Students Union,Rabha Sahitya Sabha, All Rabha Women’s Council have extended their deep mourning over his demise.
Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member and UPPL president Pramod Boro has extended his deeply mourning and condolences over the demise of Koch.
He has recalled the contributions of Koch who has dedicated towards the welfare and upift of the language and integration of the Rabha and Bodo communities in the state.
ABSU president Dipen Boro also condoled over the demise of Indra Mahan Koch.
