NTPC group crosses 3 GW Operational Renewable Capacity


KOKRAJHAR, DEC 21: With commissioning of 100 MW solar capacity at its Nokhra Project at Rajasthan, NTPC achieved another milestone of 3 GW Operational capacity on Tuesday (20 December).

The group earlier crossed 2 GW on 24 June 2022 with commissioning of its 92 MW Floating Solar project at Kayamkulam, Kerala. The first GW was achieved on 27 March (2020).

NTPC group now has 36 operational RE projects spread across the 12 states of the country with a cumulative capacity of 3094 MW.

The capacity includes largest floating Solar portfolio of 262 MW in the country with country’s 3 largest floating solar Projects located at Telangana, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

NTPC has added 1242 MW of Renewable capacity in current fiscal.

As on date, 5 GW is under different stages of implementation and another 7 GW is under tendering.

NTPC is committed to achieve over 60 GW of Renewable Energy Capacity by year 2032.
