NTPC Northeast Festival Begins In Salakati

KOKRAJHAR, DEC 11:  A two-day’s programme scheduled of North East Festival of NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati began from today at NTPC Bongaigaon stadium Salakati in Kokrajhar.
Bodoland Territorial Region ( BTR) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro lighted the while inaugurating the festival.
The NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati has been organising the festival in connection with the celebration of 75 glorious year of Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsav.
 A handcraft exhibition, ethnic food showcase and cultural demonstration representing various communities was organised to mark the celebration.
 A poets meet on Bodo language was also organised in the event that attracted participants.
Boro has lauded the NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati authorities for carrying the northeast festival which has highlighted about the ethnic food, handcrafts made from local artisans from BTR districts, cultural events in the event.
He said that the BTR government has been emphasizing to make sustainable development of the livelihood earnings among the citizens and accordingly a several rounds of discussion in between BTR government and NTPC authority was held.
He has mentioned that the NTPC is a national level company through which citizens of the nation are getting power generation as well employment opportunities across the country.
He has urged the NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati authorities to make a step for self reliable initiatives while making livelihood earnings among the local peoples in the region.
NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati Executive Director,Subrata Mandal told that the northeast festival is a festival to make integration among the society.He informed that the festival has been coincided with the celebration of 75 glorious year of Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsav across the state.He said that several programmes like handcrafts exhibition, ethnic food and cultural events has been organised in the two-day’s programme scheduled.
