NTPC Programme Concludes In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, MAR 17: A  week-long celebration highlighting the inclusive role of women in society was concluded at NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati in Kokrajhar on Thursday.
The event which started on 8th March,2022 concluded on 16th March, 2022 with various activities undertaken by the station’s female employees and spouses of employees.
The event started with the motto of fitness first for women which consisted of a walkathon of more than 30 female employees and family members on the theme “Break the Bias”. The event was marked by cake cutting and  release of balloons. As a test of fitness a friendly tug of war match and  throw ball match was also organised for the day between NTPC female employees and female employees from medical Dept. contested. The team from Medical emerged winners.
An interactive lunch  with the Top management of NTPC Bongaigaon headed by Shri Subrata Mandal, ED, NTPC Bongaigaon was organised for the females employees wherein Shri Mandal appreciated the contribution of women in the field of work and also contributing to the larger goal of societal development. Shri T. Ravinder, GM (O&M), Shri Umesh Singh, GM (FM), Shri D. P. Patra, GM (Operations), Shri Induri Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Shri Aruashis Das, GM (Project) and senior officials of the station were present.
As a part of celebration, more than 50 women from nearby villages have undergone a four day training on enhancing entrepreneurship skills by Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon in association with Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.

Recently as part of the celebration, the the women employees also visited Shanti Old Age Home, Kokrajhar with an intent of social commitment. A preventive health check of the residents of the old age home was also conducted by the the medical team of NTPC Bongaigaon . Essentials which included Blanket, Bed sheet, Towels, fruit basket etc were also distributed amongst the inmates of the old age home.
