NTPC Sanitizes Kokrajhar Press Club Office Complex

KOKRAJHAR, MAY 18: The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Bongaigaon has always appreciated the role played by COVID warriors and in tandem with it to appreciate and acknowledge the role played by media person’s sanitization of the Kokrajhar Press Club was done by the power station. Face Shields as part of protection against the virus were distributed to Kokrajhar Press Club members amidst social distancing today at Kokrajhar Press Club premises here.

The face shields were handed over to president Monalisa Sarma and secretary Hantigiri Narzary of Kokrajhar Press Club by Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, Sr. Manager (Corporate Communications), NTPC Bongaigaon.

Lahkar lauded the contribution of the journalists towards their proactive role in disseminating information on COVID protocols to the masses and reiterated that NTPC being a part of the essential services stands firm to its commitment of powering the nation and salutes the contribution of the journalists in these challenging times.

The media fraternities of Kokrajhar press club appreciated this gesture of NTPC and thanked the team of Bongaigaon for its role played during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, police administration in Kokrajhar has stepped up strict step against the citizens those are violating curfew under the SOP to combat the COVID-19 situation in Kokrajhar district.

Police administration carried out a checking step in Kokrajhar town and it’s adjoining areas.

A strict step has been initiating during the ongoing curfew promulgated while implementation of the SOP declared from state government to combat the COVID-19 situation.

Officer in-charge of Kokrajhar police station, Dipak Saikia told that police administration has initiated strong measures against the persons those are violating the curfew imposed in combating the ongoing Covid situation across the district.

He informed that police administration has been cutting fined those are violating curfew promulgation. He has urged all sections of citizens to maintain social distance as well using hands sanitization and masks to make safety from the Covid influence.

On the other hand, common masses and traders are facing hardships due to ongoing mini lockdown and curfew imposed in Kokrajhar district.

Traders in Kokrajhar town have expressed their resented as their business activities are totally paralised since few days in the wake of ongoing COVID-19 situation.

“We are facing hardships in the wake of ongoing COVID-19 situation as mini lockdown has imposed across the state”, said a trader in Kokrajhar bazar.
