Officials Of Textile Visits Bodoland Sill Park In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, OCT 24: A two member’s high officials of ministry of textiles, government of India visited at silk park including Bodoland Silk Park Adabari in Kokrajhar on Sunday and took stock about the silk parks of Bodoland Territorial Region districts.

The high officials team members were on three day visit in BTR districts are included Sanjay Sharan, joint secretary to the Govt of India, Ministry of Textiles and R.R. Okhandiar IFS, Member Secretary of Silk Board, Bangalore.

The team visited to the house of Sarbeswar Basumatary of no. 1 Garabdar, Panbari, Bijni, Chirang District who is several awards winner awarded by Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India and from hon’ble Prime Minister of India and also permitted for visiting Chinese country due to his excellence farming of Silk farm. Joint Secretary and Member Secretary were appriciated and too much happy with (him) farmer and committed to help him from their side what they can. Also visited to the NGO at the same place where Ministry of Textiles was funded to the said NGO who’s more than one Cr. annual turnover now chairman Sri Madan Basumatary of Panbari Bodofa Agro Organic Producer Company (NGO) told. Which is promoted by department of Horticulture and Processing, Govt of Assam.

They also visited to Handloom & Textile Apperal park at Barama, Baksa district and village Maoriagao and Bhoria gaja in the area of Eri cluster projects farm in the Kokrajhar District.

There was also a meeting held with Principal Secretary BTC, departmental Secretary, CHD Sericulture department, CHD Handloom & Textile, Forest Officials, Technical expert, Consultants, Sri BN Choudhury, Scientist “D” and other officers in the conference room of Bodoland Silk Park at Adabari, Kokrajhar. There was also a departmental presentation in the meeting by the Sericulture department BTC. Jt Secretary to the Govt of India, Ministry of Textiles has informed in the house that all the pending funds for on going projects shall be released within the January, 2022. And also he has advised to construct Cocoon Bank at Chirang Baksa & districts too.
