KOKRAJHAR, DEC 4: A one-day workshop on prevention of drugs and substance abuse was organised by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Delhi and Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR), Assam here at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Sunday.
The purpose of the meeting was to prevent the drugs and substance abuses and illicit trafficking through Joint Action Plan (JAP) of the various departments, including their roles, responsibilities and monitoring mechanism. Through JAP various preventive measures have been adopted to prevent the substance abuses and illicit trafficking against the children. The report of each department and its review through action plan have also been included in the JAP.
In the event, Pranjit Bora, Superintendent of Police, Chirang, Ajit Kr. Sharma, ADC, Chirang, Anjali Gandhi, Legal Consultant of NCPCR, Ajay kr. Dutta, Member of ASCPCR., Dr. Laba Deka, DSP(HQ), Chirang and Surashree Pathak, District Child Protection Officer, Chirang were present.
