Pabitra-Rwngwra Will Win RS Election: Pramod Boro

KOKRAJHAR, MAR 30: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member and UPPL president Pramod Boro has expressed his confident that NDA alliance candidates- Pabitra Margherita (BJP) and Rwngwra Narzary (UPPL) are getting last laugh in the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled to be held on Thursday.

In a media briefing in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, Boro has advancedly extended his best congratulations to both Margherita and Narzary who are going to perform an excellent results in the state on Thursday.

He has claimed that all MLAs representing NDA alliance partners including BPF party MLAs are voting in favour of NDA alliance candidates.

Boro extended his gratitude and thanks to chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, AGP president Atul Bora and three BPF MLAs who have extended support to the NDA alliance candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections.

” We are very much hopeful that all MLAs of the Assam assembly will vote in favor of NDA alliance candidates in the the greater interest of welfare and development of the state”, Boro said.

On teacher murder row, Boro said that involved accused persons with teacher murder case must be punished as per law of land as police administration have so far identified all involved accused persons.

He has condemned the brutally murder of Berlao Bethao Brahma (Bibhash Brahma),who was headmaster of Kumguri LP School and urged the police administration to take strong step against the incident.

Till Tuesday evening,six involved accused persons were arrested and another one is absconded.

The accused persons wouldn’t be spared at any costs. He said that the murder of a teacher was unwanted for the society.

Meanwhile, police administration in Kokrajhar have arrested six accused persons of the teacher murder case and another accused has been absconding.

The arrested persons were identified as Abhijit Sen,Gaurab Sarkar,Ashim Pandit, Jangkhrikhang Narzary, Premjit Basumatary, Binoy Brahma and Prabal Daimary (who is still absconding).

Notably, Brahma was headmaster of Kumguri LP School under Dotma education block in Kokrajhar district.He was kidnapped and later murdered by miscreants on 9th March whose body was found on 10th March inside the deep forest jungle of Magurmari forest area.

Family members of Brahma lodged an FIR with Kokrajhar police station, registered case no.123/2022 and subsequently police administration has been carrying it’s investigation deeply.

SP Kokrajhar Prateek Thube said that the police has been continuing it’s strong investigation into the incident.

He also informed that the charge-sheet into the incident would be placed within few days.

On Chirang docaity incident, Boro has expressed his resented over the reported Docait incident perpetrated by some anti social activity doers, said that the incidents like looting money from innocent persons in Chirang district was unfortunate.

On Tuesday evening, some persons coming from the anti social activities minded perpetrated anti social incident and looted wealths at gunpoint.

The incident took place at Betini and Malivita area along the Indo-Bhutan border area of Chirang district.

Boro has said that the Docaity like anti social activities wouldn’t be spared and they would be checked out. He has asked the Chirang district police administration to take strong step against the incident.

On VCDC election in BTC, Pramod Boro said that the BTR government is ready to conduct the VCDC election to facilitate healthy democratic system at the grassroots.

However, Boro has put questioned that the previous BPF ruled BTC government didn’t conduct VCDC elections in their 17 year rule, but today opposition BPF party demands VCDC elections in Bodoland region.

He said that BTR is a council of tribal communities, and subsequently there have been an opportunity with traditional phenomenon of the local government.

” If VCDC elections held in BTC, then all entire 10 other councils in the northearern states will also need to be conducted the VCDC elections”, Boro added.
