Police Lathi Charged On Protestor Students In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, JUL 31: Several students sustained serious inquiries due to police lathi charged today at Salakati High School while staging strong protest in support of proper check of HSLC results declaration on Friday.

Several hundred student and guardians have staged a protest today while expressing unhappiness over the HSLC results declaration.

Agitated students gheraoed the school headmaster that created sensational environment along the school complex today and later police resorted to lath charge to disperse the student protest and left several student’s injuries.

Injury students have been rushed to local hospital for treatment.

Notably, only 47 students were pass in the HSLC examination, out of the 284 appearing students of Salakati High School.

All BTC Minority Students Union leader Moinuddin Ali strongly condemned the lathi charge incident and demanded the SEBA and concern authorities to rethink about the declared HSLC results.

Expressing dissatisfied over the HSLC results declaration, hundreds of student and guardians of Debargaon HS school staged a protest demonstration in front of the school complex at Debargaon in Kokrajhar and demanded early re-evaluation of marks assessment.

A total 79  students were declared pass in the HSLC final examinations, out of the 136 appeared students in Debargaon HS school.

Student and guardians have expressed their resented and unhappiness over the results declared. Protested students demanded all allow in the HSLC results.

Notably, Kokrajhar district has scripted 92.04 % pass percentage in the HSLC final examination.

Meanwhile, principal of Debargaon HS school, HC Chetry informed that the results was declared as per the guidelines reached from the concern authorities after a thorough evaluation marks of class ix and x respectively.
