Power Disconnection At Kokrajhar Planetarium & Science Centre

KOKRAJHAR, JUL 20: With the mission of Power disconnection initiatives initiated by Power minister Bimal Borah against the consumers who are yet to pay electricity bills regularly, the Power services has been disconnected along the Kokrajhar Planetarium & Science centre few days ago for not paying huge amounts of electricity bill arrears since several months.

The power services and connection along the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre was disconnected by Power department few 20 days ago due to huge amounts of electricity bills remaining arrears.

A total Rs.1.83 lakh electricity bill has been remaining arrears for not getting healthy fund sources from the BTC administration to pay the electricity bills on time and accordingly the Kokrajhar planetarium and science centre is seeing living at deep dark at day and not services.

As per the guidelines reached from the higher authorities of Kokrajhar power services, the power services has been placed under disconnection for not paying electricity bills.

Presently, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is seeing non functional  and no visitors are visiting at the site and on the other hand, the power services have also seen disconnected few twenty day’s ago.

Notably, ex chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre to facilitate uplift and social of the science and technology in BTC districts.

Four persons including three home guards and a guide person are engaged in the planetarium and science centre to look after the site.

Home guard jawans informed that the power services has been disconnected for not paying electricity bills.They said that there was reportedly Rs. 1.83 lakh electricity bills are remaining arrears and accordingly Power department have disconnected.

“We are rendering our services in the planetarium and science centre in a dark and miserable situation as no power service is found since first week of July”, Home Guard jawans said.
