Rashmi Choudhury,Raja Debajit Basumatary wins Sahitya Akademi award

KOKRAJHAR, DEC 22: Noted writers of Bodo literature Rashmi Choudhury and Raja Debajit Basumatary have been named for Sahitya Akademi awards along with other two emminent writers of the state.

The Sahitya Akademi award was announced on Thursday across the nation where four literatures have been named for the award that brought laurels across the state.

Rashmi Choudhury of Baksa district named for Sahitya Akademi in Bodo language for her collection of poems “Sansrini Madira”, & Raja Debajit Basumatary of Chirang has been named for the award for translation  for his book “Kabuliwalani Bangali Biji”.

Eminent writer & senior journalist Manoj Kumar Goswami won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Assamese for his book titled “Bhool Satya”, & Prof. Juri Dutta named the Sahitya Akademi (translation) award for “Kacharithi: Aaraya Nari”.

Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Toren Boro has extended his warm congratulations to the Sahitya Akademi award winning writers including Bodo writers.He said it is a great joyous moment for the state that the writers of the state have been named for the akademi awards for their literary creations.

Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR),Pramod Boro has extended deep congratulations to the writers of the state who have been named for the akademi awards.

He said that the literary contributions of the writers have been further enriched Bodo & Assamese language & literature.

” My heartiest congratulations to eminent writers & senior journalist Manoj Kumar Goswami on winning the Sahitya Akademi Award in Assamese for his book titled “Bhool Satya”, Prof. Juri Dutta, on winning the Sahitya Akademi (Translation) Award for “Kacharithi: Aaraya Nari”, noted writers Rashmi Choudhury and Raja Debajit Basumatary for winning the akademi awards”,he said adding that their contributions to Assamese language & literature have been exemplary and urge them to continue the same.
