Rescued Children Would Be Kept At Hostels


KOKRAJHAR, JUL 30: Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a total 42 children including two adults were rescued from Sikkim and the children would be kept at different hostel or destination homes after consultation with CWC in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.

On Friday, Dr Sarma had an interacted with rescued children and their guardians at CIT Kokrajhar auditorium hall.

After the interactive session, Dr Sarma informed that there was reports of 80 persons trafficked from Chirang district, and 42 were rescued.

“More ten trafficked person’s information were recieved and necessary step is taking from the government. Some trafficked persons were reportedly sent to the foreign country by traffickers as reports reached”, he said.

He said that state government and police administration have initiated strict step against the human trafficking.

On political issues in the state, Dr Sarma told that Congress MLA from Thowra Susanta is likely to join in BJP on August 2 and three more MLAs are going to join the BJP in days to come.

No any inch of land would be given to any states of the northeastern and Assam state is maintaining healthy communication and integration in the region.

On Sports, Dr Sarma said that Assam daughter Lovlina Borgohain must win Gold in the ongoing Olympic held in Tokyo.

“Today, Lovlina won bronze medal after winning quarter finals and hopeful that Lovlina will win Gold. She has must win Gold medal in Olympic as peoples of Assam are waiting”, Dr Sarma added.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that the BTC administration and state government jointly stepped up against the human trafficking among the society and accordingly rescued 42 children from Sikkim recently.

He said that during the occasion of world day against the trafficking and the state government and BTC administration jointly discussed about the matter of human trafficking among the society.

He said that CM of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ranjeet Kumar Dass joined in the observing anti-terrorism day on the 25th Death Anniversary of Jwhwlao Swmla Basumatary at Goybari, Basugaon, Chirang”, Boro said.
