Rongjali Bwisagu Bidai Pwrbw Celebrates In Kolkata


KOKRAJHAR, MAY 14: The first ever Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw celebration (Bohagi Bidai Utsov) began from today at Bodoland House in Kolkata of West Bengal with two day colourful programme scheduled.

The Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw was organised by department of Cultural Affairs of Government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in association with Kolkata Bodo Association (KBA).

As part of the programme of the first day, Bodoland Territorial Region executve member for Cultural Affairs, Daobaisa Boro hoisted flag in the august presence of huge participants from different parts of the BTR districts as well West Bengal state.

Kokrajhar East LAC MLA Lawrence Islary paid floral tribute to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former ABSU president statue in front of the Bodoland House on the occasion.

Various cultural troupes representing different communities including Bodo, Koch Rajbongshi, Rabha, Garo, Nepali, Assamese, Bengali, Santhali etc are participating to showcased their cultural demonstration from Bodoland region and West Bengal state.

Noted actors from Assam Jatin Bora, Nishita Goswami and West Bengal film actor Prasenjit are attending the cultural night in the event.

Noted Bodo singers Sulekha Basumatary, Menoka Basumatary, Rita Brahma, Gautam Brahma, Gosai Daimary, Gwmwthao Basumatary are performing their singing in the Rongjal Bwisagu Pwrbw celebration.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro is attending as chief guest on the inaugural of the Rongjali Bwisagu Bidai Pwrbw celebration today at 3 pm.

An open discussion on the Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw celebration has also been organising in the two day event.


BTR executive member Daobaisa Boro said the government of BTR has been celebrating the Rongjali Bwisagu Bidai Pwrbw in association with Kolkata Bodo community in Kolkata Bodoland House.

He said that the celebration has been witnessing grand participation of various cultural troupes for Bodoland region and West Bengal state.

MLA Islary said that it is a proud moment for the peoples of the Bodoland region as well West Bengal state as Rongjali Bwisagu Bidai Pwrbw is being celebrated in Kolkata to showcase cultural demonstration in the West Bengal state.

Members of Kolkata Bodo Association have expressed their gratitude and happiness as BTR government has been initiating the Rongjali Bwisagu Bidai Pwrbw celebration in Kolkata.
