Rongjali Bwisagu Celebrated In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 16: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) celebrated Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw(festival) at Govt HS and MP School playground in Kokrajhar on Thursday with festivity fervour amusement on the first day of Bwisakh month.

 The Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw or Rongjali Bihu has been celebrating every year on the first day of Bwisakh month across the state with pomp and gaity festivity fervour among the society.

The celebration was started with flag hoisting of ABSU and Rongjali Bwisagu by ABSU president Dipen Boro.

Peoples cutting across ages participated and offered their Bwisagu dancing and singing on the occasion which has attracted participating audiences.

An exhibition showcasing traditional cultural symbolistic materials.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro, BTC speaker Katiram Boro,BTC executive member Ranjit Basumatary,ex MP UG Brahma were prominent attendees on the occasion.

Boro said that the Rongjali Bwisagu festival is a national festival of Bodo community which has a celebrating every year since forefathers among the first.

He said that peoples must enjoy the festival with festivity fervour which reaches along with the natural environment.

He has urged the citizens of the state to celebrate the Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw or Rongali Bihu with cultural integration in days to come with to preserve the cultural values.

Meanwhile, citizens in Kokrajhar,heart town of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) thronged at the Assam oil depot complex to witness the Bihu on Wheels celebration on Friday as present day is season of Rongali Bihu celebration across the state on Friday

The Bihu on wheels was organized by Purvottar Pradeshiyo Marwari Yuva Manch of

Kokrajhar Branch and Kokrajhar Jagriti to celebrate Rongali Bihu or Rongjali Bwisagu festival.

Senior police officer of Kokrajhar police station Giyasuddin Ahmed graced as chief guest on Friday occasion and inaugurated the Rongali Bihu on Rongjali Bwisagu festival amidst huge gathering the audiences.

A multi community dancing from different cultural troupes including Bihu dance and Bwisagu dance performed on the occasion which has attracted audiences.

On the occasion, office bearer of Marwari Yuva Manch also offered warm felicitation to media fraternities of Kokrajhar Press Club and security forces on duty jawans in Kokrajhar town with tradition Phulam Gamocha and wishes a happy Rongali Bihu or Rongjali Bwisagu.
