KOKRAJHAR, OCT 22: Sanswrang Sports Club, Serfanguri lifted the 15th Kanakeswar Narzary Memorial football trophy defeating United Football Club, Jharbari 2-0 goal in the final match being played on Friday Aflagaon playground in Kokrajhar Nijwm Basumatary of Sanswrang netted first goal in 10th minutes of the first half against the United.Biropn Brahma of Sanswrang scored another goal in 62nd minutes of the second half against United which led the team to win 2-0 till the last game.
United Football Club made every effort to reduce the goals against the Sanswrang, yet couldn’t score any goal and lost to Sanswrang 0-2 of the final match.
The football trophy was organized by the Ramfalbil anchalik committee of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Ramfalbill anchalik sports association (RASA) in memory of late Kanakeswar Narzary, founder general secretary of ABSU and former chief executive member of the then Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC).
Sanjay Swargiary (S Sanjarang), BTC MCLA and former general secretary of NDFB-Progressive graced as chief guest in the final match and kicked off the match.
General Secretary of Kokrajhar district Bodo Sahitya Sabha Bijel Basumatary handed over the championship trophy and cash Rs. 20,000 to the winning team.
Social activist Nityaranjan Brahma gave away runners up trophy and cash Rs.15,000 to the runners up team.
The memorial trophy was started from October 12 to mark the death anniversary of late Kanakeswar Narzary.
