Seemanta Chetana Mancha Eyes Border’s Welfare


KOKRAJHAR, DEC 24: The Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar has eyed healthy welfare and development of the border residents across the state as well entire northeastern region.

Addressing the reporters at a press conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club today, Assam state Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar president Dr Binita Bhagawati said that the mancha has been working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of all citizens those are residing in the border areas with interstate and internationally with foreign countries.

She informed that the state convention of the mancha has been organising in Kokrajhar on 25 & 26 December.

She said that the border area’s citizens are facing several hardships in their leading life along the international borders with foreign countries.

Dr Bhagawati told that the mancha has been emphasizing to discuss deeply on the welfare and development of the border residents.

Dr Bhagawati told that the international border with Bangladesh is getting fully sealed as government has been stepping strictly.

She said that only few 3-4 Kms are left with with unsealed birder areas with Bangladesh country and hopeful that the step is getting completely sealed in days to come.

She informed that Assam cabinet ministers Ashok Singhal and Keshab Mahanta are attending the occasion as guests in the event.

Chairman of the convention committee of the state mancha, Dr Ajit Boro told that the preparation and arrangements for holding the convention in Kokrajhar which will be starting from Saturday. He said that the convention will discuss on various issues and grievances of the border residents.
