Social Activist Buddheswar Daimary Passes Away

KOKRAJHAR, NOV 29: Noted social activist and senior cultural worker from greater Sukhanjhora area,Buddheswar Daimary passed away late last evening at his Sukhanjhora residence in Kokrajhar district.

According to family source, Daimary was suffering from his age ailments since post COVID-19 and was going under treatment at his residence.

He breathed his last at around 8 pm late last evening. He left four sons, three daughters behind his wife.

He was 70.

The funeral of Daimary was performed at the village crematorium ground.

He was retired teacher of Magurmari ME school.

He was former Radio artist and sung many songs in his days.

He was popularly known among the citizens for his drama writing i.e one act play and lyrics.

He was pondly soft spoken and loving humanity in greater Sukhanjhora area and was regarded as a prominent social thinker in the area.

He was associated with many social organisations like Bodo Cultural Society, Banargaon primary Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Sonatan Religious till his demise.

He was one of prominent active worker under Banargaon anchalik committee All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and Bodo Peoples Action Committee who involved during the Bodoland movement in 1987.

He was also one of founding member of SK Ehi Hiu Club, Sukhanjhora (1976) and SK Jeowary ME School (1979).

The society in greater Sukhanjhora area lost a great social activist and cultural activist with his demise.

Kokrajhar East LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary visited at the family in the morning and offered tribute to Daimary.

He has extended deep mourning and condolences to the bereaved family members.

Islary recalled the contributions of Daimary towards the social welfare and integration among the citizens in the area.

” Its a saddened to hear about demise of noted social activist and senior cultural worker from greater Sukhanjhora, Buddheswar Daimary. He was a good social activist and dedicated a lot. My prayer and condolences to the bereaved family member of Buddheswar Daimary”, Islary added.

Irrespective of caste, creed and community and organisations including UPPL media & publicity secretary Hantigiri Narzary, Banargaon anchalik committee All Bodo Students Union general secretary Bikash Mushahary, Sukhanjhora unit committee ABSU, Banargaon TCLCC chairman Rabiram Brahma, Sukhanjhora primary UPPL party, teaching fraternities from greater Sukhanjhora, Magurmari area have extended their deep condolence and mourning over his demise.
