KOKRAJHAR, DEC 1: A two-week long swachhta pakhwada action plan of 64th battalion of Sasastra Seema Bal (SSB) began from Wednesday for creating intense focus on issues and practice of swachhta among the society at Barama SSB camp in Baksa district.
A pledge taking ceremony was held at battalion headquarters and border outpost as well as area of responsibility adjacent to Indo-Bhutan border.
While administering the pledge, Rajneesh Kumar Moral, officiating commandant mentioned the main purpose of organizing the Swachhta Pakhwad followed by cleaning of campus and adjacent area of campus.
The Pakhwada is being organized by keeping in vision of Swachh Bharat by bringing awareness among the local population specially the villages on Indo-Bhutan Border.
During the campaign, the locals will be imparted ideas on the importance of keeping the surrounding clean by different initiative such as display of “Swachhta hi Seva” Message through display of banners, hoarding & posters at prominent place and march past/rally and cleanliness drive at Primary health centre, Public place, School, railway station, Picnic spot, tourist place, Bhutan gate and along national highway.
Rajneesh Kumar Moral said that SSB apart from doing primary duty i.e. to guard Indo-Bhutan Border, troops are also actively participating in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan through conducting various activities such as cleanliness drive, distribution of hygiene & sanitation items, COVID kits, dustbin, construction of Urinal points in remote bordering areas and sanitizing & spreading awareness regarding clean and healthy life among common people.
