Strong Cooperation Would Be Established With Bodoland: Sikkim CM Goley


KOKRAJHAR, NOV 22: Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Goley (Tamang) has been emphasizing for strengthening the deepest communication and cooperation in between his Sikkim state and Bodoland Territorial Region government in the field of Tourism sector and development of small SCA industrial aspects including organic tea estates.

Goley accompanied by his two cabinet ministers – Bedu Singh Pant (Tourism minister) and Arun Upriti (Urban and Housing minister) visited Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) headquarter Kokrajhar today.

Goley arrived at the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) Guest House where he was accorded a warm welcome and felicitation by Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member Pramod Boro and deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary with traditional Aronai and bouquet. They later had lunch.

The chief minister was in Guwahati on Monday and was supposed to leave for Siliguri, but due to poor weather conditions, he travelled by road and halted in Kokrajhar for a little bit of rest.

Talking to the reporters before leaving Sikkim, Goley said that this is his second visit to Bodoland Territorial Region headquarter Kokrajhar within few four months. He said his government had a good relationship with Assam and the Bodoland Territorial Region government. Thanking the BTR chief executive member for the hospitality, he invited the Bodoland Territorial Region government to his state to carry forward the good relationship as well communication in days to come.

He informed that he met BTR CEM Pramod Boro, deputy CEM Basumatary and talked about the various developmental aspects to be initiated in near future like uplift of tourism and organic tea estate sectors.

He said that he has good communication and well oriented organic tea estates under the government in the state.

He has said the citizens must come forward to extend uplift of organic tea estates in Bodoland belts in days to come.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that the BTR administration headquarter Kokrajhar is lucky enough to welcome Sikkim chief minister Goley who has visited Kokrajhar for second time within few months.

He informed that he and his deputy had a healthy sharing of discussion over the upliftment of tourism sector as well other potentialities of development activities to be carried out through the good strategy building up.

Boro informed that a official delegation team from Bodoland Territorial Region government is visiting the Sikkim state within few months for expousuring about the developmental schemes and accordingly carried out by Sikkim government.
