KOKRAJHAR, MAR 13: Bringing an encouraging information among the writing community among the Bodo literary society, three Bodo writers have been named for Sahitya Akademi awards for the 2020 year which was announced on Friday in New Delhi from ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Noted Bodo author Dharanidhar Wary of Baksa has been posthumously named for Sahitya Akademi award-2020 for his ‘Gwthenai Lamayao Gwdan Lama’ short story book. Basumatary has been named for the award having recognition his literary creativity and dedication towards uplift of the Bodo literary.
Basumatary was expired few months back at his Lesera of Baksa district following age ailments.
Noted educationist and author Dr Ajit Boro has been named for ‘Bal Sahitya Puruskar-2020 for his ‘Gothosa Bisombhi’ a children book.
Dr Boro is principal of Gossaigaon B Ed College. He is popularly well known for his his thoughts and scholarly writing on Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma.
Young promising author Newton K Basumatary of Morigaon district has been named for Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puruskar-2020 (translation) for his ‘Abwi-Abow arw Ang’ poem book.
Dr Boro, a resident of Tulungapuri Kokrajhar in Kokrajhar town, who has till date authored 15 books including children’s book, poem and edited more than 65 magazine/souvenirs in his life.
He has expressed his excitement after having information of nominated for the Sahitya Akademi award.
He said that he has been blessed from God for his dedication towards the social uplift and development through the educational environment in the region.
“My happiness was beyond the imagination after getting information for the award”, Dr Boro said.
He said that the Sahitya Akademi award announcement has made more encouraging to create more literary creativity in his life.
He said that his writing and literary creativity comes while he is getting leisure despite busy shouldering of his official scheduled.
Several Bodo organisations including president of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) Dipen Boro, Bodo Sahitya Sabha general secretary Prosanta Kumar Boro, Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member and UPPL president Pramod Boro have extended their congratulations to the Sahitya Akademi award winners from the Bodo community.
