Two Death In Ambushed In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 19: Two cattle smugglers were killed and four police personels received serious bullet injuries in the ambushed and encounter incident in between extremist and police personels held at Jomduar area under Soraibil police outpost early this morning in Kokrajhar district.

According to police, with reference to Gossaigaon PS Case No. 23/2022 U/S-279/353/307/289/379/411 IPC & r/w sec-11(a)(d)(e)(h) o PCA Act. R/W section 17/18/39/40 of UA (P) ACT accused persons namely Akbar Banjara and Salman Banjara were arrested in connection with the above reference case from Meerut and NBWA was also issued against them 8 months back.

During the course of investigation in police custody some very astonishing facts were disclosed and revealed regarding the smuggling of the cattle from Uttar Pradesh, Hariyana , Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam to Bangladesh via Meghalaya and the money involved in this illegal trade. That some fundamentalist organisations as well as ISI of Pakistan is also involved in this illegal trade and these organisations are getting huge chunk from these illegal trade that these illegal money is used for Aniti India campaign by these fundamentalist organisations and ISI in addition there is illegal hawala transactions in the form of hundis and gold which needs to be investigated properly and thoroughly to find out the gamut of this whole illegal trade and money trail and money exchanging hands. The commission of crime committed by these illegal traders have not only incurred heavy loss to the Government exchequer as well as these illegal trade has created a breeding ground for anti national activities and anti India campaign which is a matter of grave concern for India’s internal security.

The illegal money acquired through this illegal trade is provided for terror funding. The arrested persons also disclosed and revealed that a huge amount of this trade is also distributed to the extremist organizations of BTR namely NDFB, KLO and other militant organizations of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and some extremist organizations of Meghalaya.

They also disclosed about the routes followed by them for cattle smuggling and for identification of routes of cattle smuggling through Songkosh river bordering with Kokrajhar and Bhutan the both arrested accused persons were taken along with police party towards Jamduar side suddenly at about 1.15 am on 19/04/2022 the vehicles of Police party came under the ambush of extremists near Jamduar and immediately police team get down from the vehicles and took line position and started firing towards the extremist side. But the arrested accused persons of above referred case could not get down from the vehicle and sustained bullet injuries.

The firing between the extremist and police party lasted for about 10 to 12 minutes and when the firing was stopped totally and after sensing no danger the police party immediately evacuated the injured accused persons from the vehicle and sent them in another vehicle for treatment at Soraibil PHC and remaining police party started searching the nearby areas and after some time 1 AK 47 rifle with 2 magazines and 35 rounds of live ammunitions of AK 47 rifle and 28 rounds of fired empty cases of AK 47 rifle were seized from the deceased persons along with one small tree stem which was put across the road for blocking the vehicles.

In the mean time the injured accused persons reached the Soraibil PHC where the on duty doctor opined them to be brought dead in the said ambushed.

Four police personnel also sustained injuries and police vehicle was damaged.

“Police administration has intensified strict steps against the illegally cattle smuggling and anti social activities in the district”, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.

Meanwhile, one NLFB cadre surrendered before the police administration today in Kokrajhar.

The cadre was reportedly escaped from the designated camp in Kokrajhar recently. The cadre was identified as Ananiyas Basumatary alias B. Onthao of Jordanpur, Bishmuri
