Kokrajhar, Dec 22: United Chirang Duar Football Club, Runikhata (Chirang) lifted the 23rd Daoharu Mungkhlong Football Trophy being played at Dotma in Kokrajhar district.
In the final match today, the United Chirang Duar FC defeated Bilwgw Football Club, Srirampur 5-4 via tiebreaker.
The match ended 1-1 before the stipulated play time. However, the United Chirang Duar FC gets the better of Bilwgw FC in the tie-break by 5-4. In a thrilling match, Gonesh Limbu of Bilwgw FC scored the first goal in the 11 minutes of the match to lead the score 1-0. However, Baorindao Bodo equalized the score 1-1 for the Chirang Duar in the 12 minutes. Thereafter both the teams tried to outscore the others but could not score more goals in the playtime heading the match for the tie-break.
The champion team received Rs 75,000 along with the trophy which was handed over by BTC member Prakash Basumatary while the runners-up team received Rs 50,000 along with a trophy which was handed over by CHD, Sports and Youth Welfare, BTC Jajnabati Basumatary..
Nobadip Narjinari was declared the man of the match and received Rs 5000.
