UPPL-BJP to Jointly Participate in Assam assembly elections: Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma


KOKRAJHAR, JAN 27: “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) are participating unitedly in the upcoming Assam assembly elections and hopeful that coalition parties in Bodoland Territorial Region areas”, said Assam Health and Education minister and NEDA convenor Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Dr Sarma while attending the closing ceremony of first BTR accord day anniversary celebration on Wednesday held at Ambagaon High School ground in Udalguri district, said that the historic BTR accord day today completes one year which had brought a peace and tranquility environment among the all sections of communities. He said that the BTR accord had brought arms struggle free environment as all four factions of NDFB were signatories besides ABSU and UBPO whichever was regard as this Bodo peace accord in the northeastern states.

He said that government always want peace and integration in the state and accordingly working for healthy development of the citizens.

Dr Sarma said that most of the clauses of the BTR accord are getting implementation and remaining clauses are in the way of implementation procedures.

He said that government is committed to extend sufficient support to the BTR administration as UPPL-BJP-GSP combined coalition government was working for the welfare of citizens.

He said that Pramod Boro led UPPL-BJP-GSP combined coalition government is ready to work with proper strategies towards the ushering of humanity welfare.

Dr Sarma told that the BJP and UPPL parties are coming forward to participate unitedly in the upcoming Assam assembly elections in BTR areas.

He said that peoples from the BTR areas are wanting parivartan and healthy tranquility, so common masses voted in favour of UPPL-BJP-GSP combined coalition government in BTR elections.

He has expressed his hopeful that UPPL- BJP coalition parties are getting massive support in the assembly elections.

On the BJP-BPF alliance, Dr Sarma has made clarification that the BJP had an alliance with BPF party for five years since 2016 and his saffron party has no longer relation with BPF party just after completion of five years.

BTR chief executive member Pramod Boro said that the BTR Accord is an accord where all communities are getting equal right and welfare among the society.

He has opined that all clauses of the BTR accord would be implemented properly with  letter and spirit in days to come.

Boro while emphasizing for building a united Bodo nation said that a great master race of Bodo nation would be formed in the world.

He has urged the Bodo community to stand united and extend cooperation to create congenial environment.

“We must have a healthy society with peaceful environment. We are committed to work for the healthy welfare and development”, Boro added.

Meanwhile, the first BTR accord day anniversary celebration was concluded on Wednesday with four day programme scheduled at Udalguri district.

On the occasion, noted Bodo singer and lyric Arun Narzary was conferred Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award 2021 of Bodoland Territorial Region administration.

Sahitya Akademy awarded and noted educationist Surath Narzary was conferred Pramod Chandra Brahma Literary Award-2021.

Both the awards has been instituted by BTR administration to the persons who have been contributed a lot toward uplift in the field of culture and literary creativity.

The awards were given away on the closing function of BTR accord accord day celebration on 27th January in Udalguri district.

The award comprising of a citation, momento and cheque of Rs two lakh.

The award has been giving every year on the occasion of BTR accord day celebration.
