UPPL Chief Pramod Boro Offers Tribute To Tarun Gogoi


KOKRAJHAR, NOV 24: United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) chief Pramod Boro offered floral tribute to former chief minister Tarun Gogoi today in Kokrajhar who died on Monday.

Extending deep mourning to the demise of ex chief minister Tarun Gogoi, the UPPL party has suspended all election campaigning programmes for the day today.

UPPL party has organised a condolence programme at party office in Kokrajhar town.
All district committee and block committees observed condolence to pay respect to late Gogoi.

Boro recalled contributions of Gogoi who was regarded as undisputed leader of the state as well as a whole of the country.

He said Gogoi had initiated strong initiative for making historic Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) accord in 2003 through which the region get healthy integration.

“Gogoi was a leader of Social integration in the state who led the state with a massive development”, Boro said.

Meanwhile, a mass tribute was offered to former chief minister Tarun Gogoi today in Kokrajhar district,who breathed his last on Monday evening following prolong illness.

The mass prayer and tribute was organised by various organisations which include AKRSU, BTC Bengali Youth Students Federation, Nath Yogi Sanmilani, Goria Moria Desi Jatiya Parishad, BPF party being held at Fakiragram Purani Bazar in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.

BPF MLA from Kokrajhar West LAC Rabiram Narzary, Fakiragram constituency independent candidate Raju Kumar Barman and several other organization leaders offered prayer to the Gogoi observed one-minute silence.

Narzary while recalling contributions late Gogoi, said that he was a prominent political leader who held three time chief minister in the state.

“The state loss a great leader with his death”, Narzary said.
