UPPL, Congress Parties Gear Up For By-Polls In BTR Districts


KOKRAJHAR, OCT 5: Various political parties including Congress party in Bodoland Territorial Region districts are seen busy on preparing to woo the common masses ahead the assembly by-polls and claimed that their party candidates are winning the by-polls with majority supports.

On Tuesday, Opposition Congress party have declared names of two candidates for Gossaigaon and Tamulpur LACs in Bodoland Territorial Region.

Jowel Tudu has been declared as candidate for No. 28 Gossaigaon and Bhaskar Dahal as candidate for Nom 58 Tamulpur constituencies respectively to contest the upcoming assembly by-polls.

UPPL so far declared Jiron Basumatary (Gossaigaon) and Jolen Daimary’s names as candidate (Tamulpur LACs) for the by-polls.

BPF party declared Dhruba Kumar Brahma Narzary as party canidate for Gossaigaon LAC and decided to extend support to the BJP party candidates at Bhawanipur LAC.

In an exclusively talking with this Correspondent in Kokrajhar today, APCC senior spokesman and in-charge of BTC Congress Coordination Committee, Gorjon Mushahary said that Congress party is contesting in several LACs in the upcoming assembly by-polls including Gossaigaon and Tamulpur constituencies with it’s own candidates in Bodoland Territorial Region districts.

He has expressed his hopeful that Congress party candidates are winning the by-polls in BTR districts as common masses are supporting to the Congress party.

He has accused of that the ruling NDA alliance parties are not able to make good governance across the state as well Bodoland region.

He has said that people wanted good governance and healthy integration among the first, but today common masses are facing severe hardship situation like repeatedly price rise on essential commodities, fuels etc during the BJP led NDA alliance reign.

He said that NDA alliance governments in BTR and state are totally failure to meet people’s welfare and needs and accordingly common masses expresses their resented and dissatisfiction over the government.

He said that Congress party is stepping to reach out to the common masses just after nomination filling of candidates and hoped that opposition party candidates are getting massive supports from different corners of the society.

He informed that Congress party candidates are filling nomination papers on 7th October in both Gossaigaon and Tamulpur LACs.

Meanwhile, ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) party has also prepared necessary by-polls related strategies to woo the common masses for the upcoming assembly by-polls.

UPPL party president and BTR CEM Pramod Boro has visited at Tamulpur area today and met senior citizens of the greater Tamulpur area in Baksa district.

Boro also met representatives of Religious Minority Council (RMC) of Tamulpur subdivision and discussed on various issues and developmental activities.

He has assured that the BTR administration is fully committed to work for the welfare and development of the minority peoples in days to come.
