KOKRAJHAR, NOV 2: Candidates of NDA alliance partner United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) wins from No.28 Gossaigaon and No.58 Tamulpur constituencies-Jiron Basumatary and Jolen Daimary wins in a huge margin of votes in the assembly by-polls as the counting of votes was concluded in a peaceful and smoothly.
Eight candidates were in fray in the Gossaigaon LAC including NDA backed UPPL candidate Jiron Basumatary, BPF candidate Dhruba Kumar Brahma, Jowel Tudu (Congress), Khairul Anam Kandakar (AIUDF).
The voting turned was 77.20 percent in Gossaigaon LAC and accordingly 1.47 voters franchised their democratic voting rights in the assembly by-polls held on October 30.
UPPL candidate Jiron Basumatary was leading with massive margin of votes counting since beginning and till th3 15th round of counting, Basumatary won the Gossaigaon constituency with 28252 margin of votes defeating his nearest Congress candidate Jowel Tudu.
Basumatary got 58,769 votes, Jowel Tudu got 30,517 and BPF candidate Dhruba Kumar Brahma Narzary was spotted third with 20,436 votes.
In Tamulpur LAC, UPPL candidate Jolen Daimary defeated indeed candidate Ganesh Kochari in a massive 57059 margin of votes.
Daimary got 86678 votes while independent Ganesh Kochari received 29619 votes.
UPPL candidate Jiron Basumatary after winning the Gossaigaon LAC, said that he was elected to the Assam assembly in support of common masses who had voted in favour of UPPL party candidate and accordingly won.
He has extended his gratitude and thanks to the chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, UPPL president Pramod Boro and leaders of UPPL and BJP parties for working in support of his candidature.
He has assured for all round development and welfare of the constituency in days to come.

“UPPL candidates in Gossaigaon and Tamulpur constituencies won the by-polls and BJP have won the three other LACs with majority supports”, Boro said adding that UPPL party is committed to work for the welfare and development as well integration among the citizens in days to come.
