Workshop on sustainable agriculture concludes


KOKRAJHAR, DEC 17: The two-day workshop on sustainable agriculture was concluded today being held at IT Park Chandrapara in Kokrajhar district to impart training on producing of multiple agricultural aspects among the farmers in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) districts.

Nearly 100 participants participated from different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region which was organised by Farmer’s Cell of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).

The workshop was chaired by Nerkhang Kaklary, president of UPPL Farmer’s Cell.

During the workshop, it has discussed deeply over the bringing healthy welfare and development of the multiple producing of agricultural crops among the citizens in the Bodoland region.

The workshop have been highlighted about the various agricultural aspects as well schemes of agro-based initiatives initiated by BTR government to make more sustainable development in days to come.

Chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro today graced the programme, said that the workshop has been emphasizing for bringing healthy awareness and massive ushering of sustainable agricultural aspects in the region.

He has urged the progressive farmers to render dedicate while producing multiple agricultural crops to make sustainable livelihoods earning among the citizens.


He has lauded the farmer’s cell of the party and hopeful that the event will encourage the farmers while bringing massive ushering of the crops in days to come.

As the world battles climate change, sustainable agriculture is the hope for humanity, preserving our delicate ecosystems while providing for the needs of the people”, Boro added.

Among others, BTR MCLA and Political Secretary to CEM (BTR), Madhab Chandra Chetry, Director of Sericulture, Dr. Mukul Deka were prominent attendees in the event.
